QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive transportation plans tailored to the unique requirements of OOG and heavy lift cargo.
  • Coordinate with clients to understand their specific cargo needs, timelines, and delivery locations.
  • Create and manage project schedules, ensuring timely delivery of cargo.
  • Evaluate and select the most suitable routes and modes of transport (road, rail, sea, or air) based on cargo specifications, cost-efficiency, and safety considerations.
  • Perform route surveys to assess any potential obstacles or limitations and ensure safe passage of cargo.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for transportation, handling, permits, and any additional services required.
  • Negotiate rates with carriers, shipping lines, and subcontractors to optimize cost savings.
  • Manage project budgets and track expenditures to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations, customs requirements, and safety standards.
  • Prepare and process necessary documentation, including shipping permits, customs declarations, and cargo manifests.
  • Obtain and manage necessary permits for oversized or heavy cargo transportation.
  • Liaise with clients, shipping lines, port authorities, customs officials, subcontractors, and other relevant parties to ensure smooth execution of the transport plan.
  • Communicate project progress and updates to clients and other stakeholders regularly.
  • Coordinate with on-site personnel for the loading, unloading, and securing of cargo.
  • Receiving and processing orders from consumers, organizing their fulfillment in partnership with approved supplier. Timely and accurate (before transportation start) processing of transport orders and transport order confirmation according to the received commercial offer. Draws up instructions to suppliers and customers regarding processing transport and shipping documents.
  •     Controls the fulfillment of order, records planned and actual data on order, everything that takes place during order fulfillment. Informs consumers of freight traffic (Supplier’s Portal, Track&Trace, post, phone, etc.). Fills set reporting form on freight traffic. Informs a curator-seller about the procedure of order fulfillment, about new orders and customer’s satisfaction.
  • Identify potential risks associated with OOG and heavy lift transportation and develop contingency plans.
  • Monitor cargo movement and address any issues that arise promptly to minimize delays or damage.
  • Ensure safety protocols are strictly followed to prevent accidents or damage during transport.
  • Utilize specialized logistics and project management software to plan, track, and optimize cargo movements.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, project documentation, and communication logs.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on project status, costs, and any incidents or deviations from the plan.
  • Analyze past projects to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1- 5 years of experience in freight forwarding, with specific experience in handling OOG and heavy lift cargo.
  • Strong knowledge of international shipping regulations, customs procedures, and industry best practices.
  • Proven experience in project management and logistics planning.
  • Proficiency in using logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  •  Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
