Chassis Development Engineer (Mechanical/Structural Systems)

We are looking for a Teammate with the following qualifications who will take an active role in the design and development of the structural sub-systems for the national and international diesel, hybrid and electric chassis platforms that BASE Studio is currently working on.

QUALIFICATIONS :

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or automotive engineering
• Knowledge and experience of chassis engineering especially in structural sub-systems
• Deep knowledge in materials
• Knowledge in welding methods and welded assembly design
• Knowledge in sheet metal design and machining (casting will be a plus)   
• Knowledge and experience in Finite Element Analysis
• Preferably, similar background in Defense Industry or Heavy Commercial Vehicles
• Capability in the design of complex automotive components and structural systems by the helping of a CAD software (experience in Creo will be an asset) and familiarity with PLM systems
• Capability of creating technical drawings and knowledge on GD&T
• Fluency in English is a must
• No obligation to travel abroad
• Resident or able to reside in Kocaeli

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Design of Structural Sub-Systems such as Engine Bay, Ladder Frame, Dashboard in 3D environment
• Performing the primary basic engineering calculations
• Defining the boundary conditions
• Running FEA, evaluating the results and updating the design accordingly
• Work in harmony with cost, time, weight targets
• Communication with the suppliers and internal organization when necessary
• Creating detail technical drawings in component and system level and publishing in PLM system
• Organize and participate in validation tests
• Managing the components and sub-systems in PLM
